 MY RESEARCH

My research focuses on extending the possiblities for modelling Intelligence from the field of  Artificial Intelligence to the fields of Cognitive Science and Computational Neuroscience. I particularly look into how high level representations and algorithms of GOFAI and brain might emerge from or correspond to low level representations and solutions of computational neuroscience and neuroscience.

I currently focus on non-symbolic algorithms, non-symbolic concepts and machine learning for that purpose. The tools for modelling are artificial neural networks, genetic algorithms and agent systems. Cognition in general and adaptation and learning strategies (incl. reinforcement learning) in particular are of current interest. Implementations are mostly in the form of  robotic simulations.
